Curious about the environment like all the time, JEEP was celebrating \u00a0the World Environment Day (WED)\u00a0on\u00a0Tuesday, 5th June 2012 in the areas of Masaka and Kasese where we exhibited and showed our skills and activities. Theme of this years WED was the Green Economy.<\/p>\n
JEEP participated in \u00a0events in\u00a0both areas \u00a0and exhibited a number of energy saving technologies including the\u00a0TLUD stove<\/a>, Sarai cooker, hay basket cookers, charcoal stoves and built up\u00a0shielded rocket stoves<\/a>\u00a0on that day. Other things\u00a0displayed were alternative energy fuels and techniques to contain energy including\u00a0solar<\/a>, briquettes, tree seedlings and the “Liter of Light<\/a>”<\/p>\n <\/p>\n All the technologies displayed captured people\u2019s attention and innovated their interests to get to know\u00a0more about the technologies including the Minister of Environment Mrs Mutagamba. She asked about our plans to ensure that these technologies disseminate to all districts in Uganda. Among\u00a0other visitors especially a lot of school children, local people and different officials were interested in our\u00a0technologies.<\/p>\n
